September: The Pig Place...beside the Oxford canal

I love this place it's unique!

We walked over 7 miles along the canal side (16,290 steps in 167 minutes) so earned our burgers and bacon....!

September: Ogmore by Sea overnight

I reckon this is my favourite beach...on the first day we walked nearly 7 miles...and recorded 15,707 steps (each).  So we reckon this to be 615 calories burned, which equates to the home-made pie meal we ate afterwards!!!!

                                                                      Crocodile rock!

Then...I saw this near the camp site we stayed at...like...if I ever won the lottery....!

Next morning we headed to Dunraven Castle walled gardens (free entry) and we had the place to ourselves.  The gardens held trees heavily laden with cherries, pears, apples and so on...
Dunraven Beach....

Dunraven resident rabbit....

Roxy and Tia ready to go home...but we'll be back again before long!

September: Ogmore Beach

Today's outing to Ogmore beach included a walk along to Hardy's Bay.

All of the above...beautiful...wild...unspoiled.
However...beneath my feet, chips of plastic in many colours litter the beach....

September: Wentwood Forest day out

A walk in the woods....

And then...of course the dogs...Roxy and Tia

July: Ashbourne Woods. Devon.

Just one night away this time.  High temperatures caused us to head for the shade of woodland.  The Ashbourne site proved to be a quiet,  with all we needed for the short break period.  However...we both noted the lack of animal/bird wildlife...for as established woodland we'd expected more.  The trees offered friendly faces though!

July: Pembrey Country Park

A few days away in the South Wales area towards the Gower.  First stop Cheptow for a one-night stop-over in the Strawhouse Field, Stonehouse Farm.  Lots of wild flowers, including Bee Orchids.

Next stop Ogmore-by-the-sea...a favourite place!

Then on to Pembrey for a couple of nights....

A walk to Bury Port and back...along the coast path

In all...a good short break for us and a great time for Roxy and Tia!
Two tired little dogs heading for home...
