April 2021: The New Forest.

At last the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be reducing and the restrictions placed upon movements are consequently being eased.  To date we'd been out with Gordon for short day trips and we've stayed local.  This time, for the first time, we stayed overnight.  Not only was this the first time since the pandemic hit...but it was also the first time we've stayed overnight in this van.  I have to say that it was damned uncomfortable...the seats provided beds of sorts, but the rise and fall of levels left a lot to be desired.

The site we stayed at was called Long Beech and no toilet facilities were provided, nor electric hook-up. This was fine as the whole point was simply for us to get away from it all...and we were only there one night anyway.  The van has on-board loo and basic provisions, so there was nowt to complain about (beside the sleeping arrangements).

Our journey to the Forest was an enjoyable one, without undue traffic hold-ups or hassles.  The weather was warm and the sky clear blue, with a smattering of artistically presented white fluffy clouds.  Our first stop was Ham Hill...which was lovely.

The New Forest is the perfect place to see wild deer. ponies, cows and donkeys...

As soon as we've sorted out our sleeping arrangements we'll be back!
