May: Sidmouth and surrounding area

This morning we woke to grey skies and drizzle...but nevertheless headed for Sidmouth where we'd booked to stay overnight at the Oakdown camping site.  Our first stops were Sidmouth and Seaton beaches, but the weather was too awful to take photographs.

The camp site made up for this., it was immaculate, and being positioned beside the Donkey Sanctuary meant we were able to walk (between showers) around the surrounding fields and meadows.

The following day we awoke to clear skies....so after breakfast on site we drove to Lyme Regis.  I reckon this was one of the prettiest towns we've visited, although the sunshine might have gone a long way towards the forming of this impression there's no denying that the sea front houses and beach were beautiful.
